In the centre of “Town” is a man who wants to go away. He cannot go on the way he has been living, something has to be done. Otherwise, all meaning will be lost. The fear for everything staying the way it is, forever, the same woman, the same town, the same couch have made the life of a decent man unbearable. It is easy to generalise and blame it on middle-life crisis, but instead of simply giving a diagnosis, Grishkovets is interested in the difficult process of arriving at and moving away from that dead end. For a month now, the man (Marius Peterson) is making preparations for leaving. The suitcase is packed. The woman (Anneli Tuulik) knows, but does not understand. The friend (Kristo Toots) finds out and cannot understand. The father (Lembit Peterson) gives up because the common ground for dialogue is lost. The father knows from his own experience that it will pass but his son is death and blind to his words.  The departure is delayed because the fear is greater than the wish to leave. If you go and still come back, you have used your last chance and there is nothing left. You cannot return to your old routine. Will one remain waiting? Is there a place to return to? There are mosquitoes on the other side of the river as well. You cannot run and hide from yourself.  How does it happen that one day you want to tell your wife that you wish you’d never met her? Right now you cannot live without them, but... Is this man an egomaniac or simply an utterly miserable person? Should we sympathise with him or should we accuse him of selfishness? Do we recognise the moment when dialogue is replaced by monologue?
